Coco is a fully organic and eco-sustainable product derived from the processing of coconut fruit waste. It is produced in tropical and subtropical regions.
From Husk to Substrate
The transformation of coconut husks into fiber involves several stages: aging, washing, rinsing, buffering with a specific solution, drying, grinding, grading, and finally compression. These processes are essential to modify the physical and chemical properties of the coco fiber, making it ideal as a growing substrate for crops.
Without proper processing, coco fiber can have an excessive salt content, leading to nutritional imbalances and an increased risk of root rot caused by Pythium. At Idrolab Hydroponics, we follow all necessary protocols to provide our customers with the cleanest and most consistent coco available on the market.

Rehydration
Guide on How to Rehydrate the Cubes
For optimal results with Idrolab Hydroponics compressed coco products, we recommend performing the initial rehydration using a drip irrigation system. Apply pulses equal to 5% of the total substrate volume every 15–20 minutes until full saturation is achieved.
